VALVERDE (EL HIERRO), September 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Naviera Armas ship ‘Volcán de Taburiente’ is scheduled to arrive this Monday at 10:30 a.m. to the island of El Hierro to transport almost 500 irregular migrants who have recently arrived on the island to Tenerife, sources from the Cabildo de El Iron.
The ‘Merdian Island’ has become this summer the main arrival point of the ‘Canary route’ with canoes from Senegal that have ended up straining the reception network, which is why it has been decided to undertake the transfer operation from the port of La Estaca.
This past weekend alone, various islands received the arrival of a total of 1,136 migrants aboard 16 boats.
