SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife invests 3.7 million euros in the improvement works of the TF-12 that connects the municipalities of Santa Cruz and La Laguna through the Anaga ridge.
The Minister of Highways, Dámaso Arteaga, explains in a note that “the works respond to the need to provide greater security measures to a road that runs through the Biosphere Reserve and is used by many residents of the area and by a large number of tourists from the Bailadero crossing to Las Canteras”.
The work will consist of the rehabilitation of the pavement, new signage and beacons, as well as the replacement and adaptation of the existing drainage where necessary, in addition to the maintenance of existing services during the execution of the works.
The deadline for completion of the works is 12 months, once the work has started.
Thus, the works will be carried out in various sections and first of all the pavement between the area of El Bailadero and Cruz del Carmen will be improved between KP 9+460 to KP 22+676.
In the same way, the urban section between Las Mercedes and Las Canteras between PK 26+233 to PK 28+670 will be intervened.
In addition, the work will not only consist of the rehabilitation of the road surface, but other tasks are contemplated such as the specific repair of the clay area in Las Mercedes, between PK 28+255 to PK 28+300; the repair of a sunken ditch in Casa de la Cumbre located between PK 16+290 to PK 17+000 and the landscape integration treatment in Cruz del Carmen that covers from PK 22+598 to 22+676.
