The Governing Board of the La Laguna City Council approved, in its last session, two agreements for the granting of individual nominative subsidies in favor of the Bishopric of Tenerife, for a total amount of 61,700 euros, for the co-financing of the partial rehabilitation projects of the roof of the Nuestra Señora de La Concepción church and for the restoration of the roof of the Nuestra Señora de Gracia hermitage.
The mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, stressed that, through these agreements, “we highlight the commitment and financing on the part of the City Council to safeguard an important part of our heritage.”
Specifically, the subsidy for the church of La Concepción amounts to 51,700 euros and the project, with a total cost of 178,262 euros, will involve waterproofing and thermal insulation, since it is necessary to resolve the complete watertightness of the covers of the head. of the church as a guarantee of conservation of the property and the assets it houses, as stated in the file.
The intervention is limited to the area of the roofs of the temple’s head, differentiating four areas where different actions will be carried out.
Meanwhile, the subsidy for the Gracia hermitage is 10,000 euros, covering 99.9% of the total cost of the project, which consists, mainly, of the re-roofing, that is, the repositioning of the tiles that have moved or come off. its original location, and ensure correct stapling.
