The Bavarian Week-Oktoberfest yesterday once again filled the Plaza de Europa in Puerto de la Cruz with a great German atmosphere in which it was possible to enjoy a wide gastronomic offer, along with craft beers and typical pastries from that country to also celebrate the 50th anniversary of this already popular event that attracts the local population, tourists and visitors, being the oldest beer festival in Spain and organized by the Center for Initiatives and Tourism (CIT) of Puerto de la Cruz.
An open space set for the occasion, with free access where you can also enjoy good German music live, and which can also be visited today.
As detailed by the organization, in the restaurant part there are Al Hotel Alua Tenerife, Wawa Street food, El Saucito, Agüita and Hannen Barril. All of them with a wide and varied gastronomic offer in which you can also find dishes for celiacs and vegans. The sweet part this year is provided by Rancho Grande, Habatonka and Iván’s Pastry.
And, as has been traditional, the presence of craft beers cannot be missing from the party; on this occasion the participants are Agüita, La Armada, Tierra de Perros, Jeito, Isla Verde, Tacoa and La Ranilla. The event is also joined today by the celebration of the Dogtoberfest also in the Plaza de Europa, and in which all family members are invited to enjoy a different day during their walk through the city.
Mini Oktoberfest
This 50th edition included, as a novelty, a mini Oktoberfest, last Wednesday, on Las Lonjas Street, the old fishing dock of Puerto de la Cruz, as an opening event for the anniversary and which also featured musical performances, gastronomy and beer. artisanal.
On the other hand, the organization highlights that it maintains its commitment to continue in the line of work proposed last year with the collaboration of Valoriza to generate, from organic waste and its natural decomposition process, compost that will be used in the fertilization of the José Luis Montesinos Foundation garden.
In addition, funds have been raised for the Tenerife mountains affected by the forest fire.
