The Tenerife Cabildo has decided to limit the circulation of waste trucks that travel on both the TF-5 and TF-1. In total, 60 trips per week will be eliminated during the time slot between 5:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
This measure, which will come into effect on both roads starting next Monday, according to the island Corporation, aims to contribute to the relief of road traffic, especially after seven in the morning, when the level of congestion is higher. accused.
In the case of TF-5 transport, the usual route is from the transfer plant located in the municipality of La Orotava to the Tenerife Environmental Complex, in Arico; while, in the case of the Southern highway, trucks cover the route between the aforementioned complex and Arona.
The Minister of Mobility of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Eulalia García, explained that the restriction on the circulation of trucks will not affect or entail any reduction in the service provided to the town councils and residents. And she pointed out that the regulation of waste truck schedules has been coordinated with the Minister of the Natural Environment, Blanca Pérez, and the insular director of Waste, Alejandro Molowny.
Measures
“It should be noted that the Cabildo is leading the process in which short, medium and long-term measures will be implemented to alleviate and solve traffic problems,” said Eulalia García. To which he added that “this is a collective challenge that concerns the entire society, which is why a roadmap has been established with the different economic and social agents to analyze the solutions and as far as we are concerned we must take measures to favor the de-escalation of traffic and improve mobility.”
