LA OROTAVA (TENERIFE), Aug. 31 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The acting Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, said this Thursday that the proposal of the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to request State pacts from the PSOE to start the new legislature is “not very credible” when it has been “blocking for five years” the General Council of the Judiciary.
In statements to journalists on the occasion of a visit to Tenerife to assess the damage from the forest fire, he also indicated that the Constitution states, in its article 68, that legislatures will last four years and can only be shortened in “exceptional circumstances.”
“I am surprised that those who have experience do not realize and ignore that article,” he indicated, stressing that one must “govern without haste, with serenity” and with this offer of a short term, Feijóo shows that “he only intends to be president.”
Robles has also wondered “what credibility” the investiture candidate has to “talk about State pacts” when he has been blocked for five years and with justice as a “hostage” of his policies.
Along these lines, he has indicated that in politics we must be “coherent” and Feijóo has “no credibility” in asking for a two-year legislature and offering State pacts when he is not open to renewing the CGPJ. “Any legitimacy is lost”, he has detailed.
