Some thirty poles and three kilometers of cable burned by the fire in Tenerife have been replaced

Endesa’s Redes subsidiary, e-distribución, has replaced thirty poles and three kilometers of low-voltage braided cable that suffered irreparable damage as a result of the fire of Tenerifeas reported by the company.

Endesa’s technicians have carried out an initial assessment of the damage caused to the electrical networks and consider that the collaborative work carried out with the extinction operation has allowed the electrical infrastructures, especially the transformation centers, not to have been affected despite of the voracity of the fire.

Ravelo, in El Sauzal, and Aguamansa, in the municipality of La Orotava, are the towns that have most required the renewal of poles and cables.

Since the start of the fire, e-distribución had several teams deployed at the key points of the perimeter marked by the fire in Tenerife to collaborate with the extinction operation and ensure the security of the networks and other electrical infrastructures.

In the middle of last week, Endesa operators and collaborating companies agreed to reconnoiter the areas that have been affected by the fire and began the work of replacing totally burned poles and sections of braided cable.

The task was still difficult due to the high temperatures that the earth gave off and the dryness of the environment, which is why in some cases it was necessary to use motorized pumps that would help cool the earth and then proceed to replace the damaged poles, he details. the company.

The Endesa teams deployed at the center of the fire had to work in coordination with the firefighting operation to proceed to interrupt the supply in certain medium voltage lines where the impact of the fire was imminent.

They were punctual and preventive actions that facilitated and guaranteed the intervention on the ground by firefighters, soldiers and civil protection teams. “The supply of electricity on the island of Tenerife was guaranteed at all times,” they add.
