SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
PSOE and Partido Popular (PP) have made public this Wednesday the government pact reached two days ago by which the popular join the work of government and also its spokesman, Andrés Martín, will hold the Mayor’s Office for the last 18 months of the mandate .
Both formations consider that this agreement is “the best way” to give stability to the government during the four years of its mandate.
In this way, the two elected councilors of the PP join the government, with Andrés Martínez joining as first Deputy Mayor and Eudelia Pestano as third Deputy Mayor, with the socialist Olivia Delgado at the head of the Mayor’s Office.
“The municipality needs a solid project that has all Ariqueros and Ariqueras at the center of the policies, which has been materialized in this government agreement. Arico cannot wait four more years, it is time to make the municipality that we want, the polls have spoken and the neighbors have expressed change,” declared Olivia Delgado in a joint statement sent by both parties.
Along these lines, he indicated that they have worked on a government project that has established as priority objectives “the completion of the works of the Villa de Arico square, solving the serious problems of sanitation and water supply, the asphalting of the streets and the approval of the General Plan”.
Under the pact, the Popular Party will lead the areas of Urbanism and Planning, Equality, Sports, Youth, Employment Agency and Local Development, Tourism, Industry and Transport while the PSOE will lead the areas of Recruitment, Human Resources and Internal Regime, Festivities, Culture, Social Welfare, Health, Sanitation and Addictions, Works and Services, Environment and Primary Sector, Seniors, Citizen Security, Historical Heritage, Finance, Employment and Housing.
“The City Council is open to dialogue and to the contributions of the residents, as well as to all the constructive contributions that the rest of the political formations that make up the Plenary want to make. We want to do politics with you, that you participate in the decisions and the future of the municipality,” said the mayoress.
For his part, Andrés Martínez pointed out that after a few months of the formation of the Plenary, a programmatic agreement has been reached to meet the objectives set.
“We formed a work team between the Popular Group and the PSOE, being aware that it will be a key legislature and that we will be a solid team, putting Arico before other factors,” he concluded.
