SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, accompanied by the Minister of Social Welfare, Candelaria Delgado, meets this Tuesday by videoconference, starting at 12:30 p.m., with the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, to analyze the rebound migratory in the archipelago.
This is the first meeting to be held following the urgent letter request from the Canary Islands Executive to hold meetings with the heads of the ministries of the Interior, Migration and Foreign Affairs.
The Canarian Government has warned that in August alone, the arrival of irregular migrants is more than double that of last year, with more than 2,500 people, and believes that the situation is going to worsen given the usual bonanza of the sea in the months of September and October.
