The Aguamansa canal has been repaired again after generating problems in the water supply in some municipalities
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Tenerife forest fire remains stabilized and in the control phase of the ‘hot spots’ that are reactivated continuously within a perimeter of about 90 kilometers with almost 15,000 hectares burned that covers twelve municipalities from Fasnia to Los Realejos.
For now, some 20 people from the municipality of Santa Úrsula continue to be evicted on a preventive basis and to facilitate the extinction work, and the emergency department will evaluate this Wednesday the possibility of their returning to their homes.
The Cabildo de Tenerife, which is directing the operation after lowering the fire to level 1, has deployed an operation of 135 people on the land affected by the forest fire, to which must be joined the four helicopters –two from the Cabildo and two from the State–, together with the coordination and logistics personnel who continue to work on the emergency.
The ground troops belong to the Forestry Brigades of the councils of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, the Consortium of Firefighters of Tenerife and the companies Tragsa and Gesplan and the forecast is that on Tuesday afternoon two volunteer fire crews.
The media are focusing their work on the area of La Matanza, Santa Úrsula, La Orotava and Güímar and their main objective is to consolidate the perimeter and put out any possible reactivation of the fire.
During the early morning there was a break in the Aguamansa Canal, which supplies the municipalities from Los Realejos to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
For this reason, the channel’s staff, accompanied by members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium and the supervision of the Insular Water Council, have worked since early in the morning to repair it and it is already operational, the corporation said in a note.
In addition, air quality continues to be monitored, which has had high particle values in the upper area of La Orotava during the night, although they dissipated with the arrival of day.
FORBIDDEN TO MAKE FIRE
The Cabildo has also updated the situation of the Territorial Insular Emergency Plan (PEIN) and has established that in the municipalities of Güímar, Arafo, Fasnia, Candelaria, El Rosario, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria de Acentejo, Santa Úrsula, La Orotava and Los Realejos, grade 3 measures remain activated, which means that it is prohibited to make fires in recreational areas and to travel along forest tracks and paths.
The prohibition to stay in the mountains and make fire outdoors (bonfires, stoves, barbecues, gas stoves) is also maintained; pyrotechnic displays and the use of machinery and tools that cause sparks.
In addition, it will not be possible to circulate with motor vehicles on forest tracks for recreational purposes.
Hunting is also prohibited in the municipalities affected by the fire, except in Güímar and Fasnia, where it will be allowed.
On the other hand, the following recreational areas and camping areas will remain closed: Chanajiga (Los Realejos), Hoya del Abade (La Victoria), La Caldera (La Orotava), La Laguneta Chica (Santa Úrsula), Las Calderetas (El Sauzal) , Las Raíces (El Rosario), Lomo La Jara (Tacoronte), Los Frailes (Arafo) and Ramón El Caminero (La Orotava).
The Cabildo has also activated grade 1 measures in the municipalities not affected by the forest fire. Thus, it is still prohibited to make a fire in recreational areas (bonfires, stoves, barbecues, gas stoves), pyrotechnic displays and work with machinery and tools that cause sparks.
As of this Tuesday, hunting activity, forest exploitation and the movement of motor vehicles on the network of forest tracks for recreational purposes are allowed. In the same way, you can travel along the tracks and forest trails and use the recreational areas, camping areas and camps (without using stoves or gas), as well as sporting events and pilgrimages on tracks and forest trails and cross country.
In any case, the Cabildo urges the population to take extreme precautions throughout the island territory with any activity that can generate fires such as tobacco, use of generators or electrical and pyrotechnic material.
CLOSED ACCESSES TO TEIDE THROUGH LA OROTAVA AND LA ESPERANZA
The access roads to the Teide National Park via La Esperanza (TF-24) and La Orotava (TF-21) remain closed, as well as the TF-523 (Subida a Los Loros) while the access roads to Teide via Vilaflor (TF -21) and Chío (TF-38) are open, but only up to the Cable Car.
As for public transport, the only Titsa line that continues to be suspended is Line 348 Puerto de la Cruz-Orotava-Parque Nacional del Teide. For its part, Lines 345 and 346 Puerto de la Cruz-Orotava-Aguamansa will only reach the Velo, while Line 342 Costa Adeje-Cristianos-Vilaflor-Parque Nacional del Teide will only reach the Cable Car.
In the case of the Teide National Park, the following trails are completely closed: Trail nº 1 La Fortaleza, Trail nº 2 Arenas Negras, Trail nº 8 El Filo, Trail nº 14 Alto de Guamaso, Trail nº 17 Igueque, Trail nº 20 Fasnia Volcano, Trail no. 21 Corral del Niño to La Yegua Blanca, Trail no. 25 Receibo Quemado, Trail no. 29 Degollada del Cedro, Trail no. 34 Montaña Limón, Trail no. 36 Alto de La Fortaleza and Trail no. 37 Cerrillar-Carnicería.
For its part, the Siete Cañadas Trail no. partially closed from the beginning in contact with path nº1 La Fortaleza until its contact with path nº33 (Montaña Negra).
