The works to improve the drainage of the Los Menceyes boulevard, in the municipality of Candelaria, have been completed. The mayoress Mari Brito, and the Councilor for Urban Planning, Reinaldo Triviño, visited the area and point out that this action represents an important step in future channeling and sanitation works carried out by the council.
“With an investment of more than 350,000 euros, the sections between José Rodríguez Ramírez and Mencey Romén streets, and Los Menceyes boulevard already have that necessary improvement in the rainwater network. In addition, it should be noted that the company has managed to carry out the work in four months and not in five, which was what was planned by contract, good news since this way residents and visitors to the area can enjoy the space normally ”, pointed out the mayoress, Mari Brito.
For his part, Reinaldo Triviño thanked the residents affected by traffic conditions for their patience and cooperation so that the work could be carried out in the best possible way.
Recently, the Cabildo approved 974,380.75 euros, integrated within the framework of the Municipal Cooperation Plan, for sanitation on the coast of Candelaria. The mayoress, Mari Brito, considers the work “very necessary to be able to complete the network that will carry the wastewater to the regional treatment plant.”
This specific work contemplates the execution of a sanitation network that collects the sewage flows from the homes and equipment around Calle de La Galera, as well as the execution of a pumping station (EBAR) and a drive , which allows connecting said flows to the existing sanitation network on Avenida Marítima.
On the other hand, a new drainage collector will be built, by gravity, in the section of Avenida Marítima, between the semi-roundabout of Calle Guaja and the EBAR of Punta Larga, which will collect the flows of sewage from the avenue and the cross streets, and will derive them to the aforementioned EBAR for their impulsion to the regional treatment plant.
Finally, a new sewage collector will be undertaken on Bataloya street and a section of Los Menceyes avenue, with the aim of increasing the capacity of the existing network, so that it allows connecting, in addition to the current homes, the new urban developments , as well as collect water from the medianías.
