The City Council of La Laguna, through the Department of Works and Infrastructures, has scheduled for tomorrow Monday the start of different works to improve and resurface two roads in Guajara. Specifically, these tasks will be concentrated on La Paz avenue and Progreso y Prosperidad street. Previously, actions have been carried out to improve the accessibility of sidewalks and pedestrian crossings in the area.

The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, explained that these tasks will continue for eight working days and that during this period, signs will be installed alluding to the prohibition of parking on streets that cross the construction site, to facilitate access. of vehicles to private garages.

The Laguna councilor responsible for the Area, Adolfo Cordobés, explained that this intervention is part of the firm reinforcement project for the roads in the northeast area of the municipality, which in recent months has already covered Garajonay, Amanecer and Tomás González streets. , on the roads of Garimba and Los Reyes; El Tornero road; or the path of El Medio, in El Coromoto, among others.

During the asphalt paving works, it will not be possible to access with vehicles, except in cases of emergency, for which reason the public is asked to follow the instructions of the operators present at the work at all times. In the case of Progreso and Prosperidad streets, it is estimated that the works will last eight days, while Avenida de La Paz will host these works for six days.

On the other hand, the La Laguna City Council, through the Department of Works and Infrastructures, has put out to tender this week the pedestrianization project of Rodríguez Moure street, in the section between the San Agustín and Anchieta roads, in the downtown area of the city. These actions will have a base budget of 279,982 euros and an execution period of three months, from the award of the contract.

This project joins other similar works that have already been awarded this month and will begin work soon, such as the pedestrianization of Calle Juan de Vera, also between San Agustín and Anchieta.

The companies that wish to present their proposals for the planned project on Rodríguez Moure street already have the tender file available on the Public Sector Contracting Platform.
