The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of Güímar has decreed the release with the obligation to appear again when required for the octogenarian arrested for throwing stones at a helicopter that was participating in the work of extinction of the fire in Tenerife.
The events occurred on Tuesday, August 22, when an octogenarian resident of the Tenerife municipality of Güímar was detained by the Civil Guard after throwing a stone from the La Montañeta area at one of the helicopters that was working to extinguish the fire. fire when he replenished water in an agricultural tank on his property. Regarding this, the Minister of Territorial Policy of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manuel Miranda, made it clear that all the helicopters carry GPS so that the water and the place from where it has been captured are known at all times, in this way a control is carried out of those agricultural deposits on which water has been collected, in order to replace it as soon as possible.
