SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, regretted this Friday the speech given by the president of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, and that he did not resign after the non-consensual kiss with the player Jenni Hermoso.
“Neither half-hearted apologies, nor a resignation that in the end has not occurred. The suspension of the president of the Federation should have been immediate. So today the victim would not have been punished again when what we expected is the protection of Jenni Hermoso” , has written through his Twitter account.
In similar terms, the former Canarian president, Ángel Víctor Torres, has expressed himself that Rubiales’ actions “are not acceptable”, aggravated by some “shameful” words before the Federation assembly.
“The worst thing in the face of concatenated errors is to flee forward. Rubiales should have resigned, today was his opportunity and he wasted it,” he commented.
