The National Police and the Civil Guard have arrested two people, a 35-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, both residents of the municipality of La Orotava, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery at a home located in the neighborhood de Benijos, which in previous days had been evacuated due to the forest fire in Tenerife.
The criminal acts occurred this morning when agents of both bodies were in a coordinated manner carrying out citizen security and prevention tasks, in relation to the evictions of homes caused by the forest fire.
After receiving the alert from two citizens who reported a possible crime of robbery in a home, the agents immediately went to the scene, finding the door of the house forced and after accessing it, surprised in its inside two people searching her, a man and a woman, whom they were able to intercept and detain, since the man managed to flee the place.
At the time of the arrest, the alleged author was carrying various effects of the robbery, such as clothing, two watches and some jewelry, which were recognized by the complainants as hers.
The agents carried out an intense raid through the municipality of La Orotava with the aim of locating and arresting the man, and they surprised him in Benijos, which is why they proceeded to his immediate arrest. It should be noted that both detainees turned out to be cousins of the owners of the house and would have taken advantage of the eviction to force the lock and gain access to it.
