The Official College of Pilots condemns the attack against a helicopter that acts in the Tenerife fire
The Official College of Commercial Aviation Pilots (COPAC) has “outright” condemned the attack suffered by one of the helicopters involved in extinguishing the forest fire affecting the island of Tenerife.
The College mentions the information offered by the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, who pointed out that a person threw stones at a helicopter, hitting the tail rotor, “which forced the crew of the aircraft to make an emergency landing.
Behavior that from COPAC, as indicated in a press release, is “intolerable” behavior because “it directly affects the safety of operations and pilots”, causing damage to the aircraft, for which it understands that it must be sanctioned in accordance with the Aviation Safety Law.
In addition, the Official College of Pilots has regretted that this type of event occurs against professionals who are fighting the fire that affects the north of Tenerife in “very harsh” conditions.
