For his part, the Councilor for Public Services and the Environment, Carlos Tarife, explained that “we hope that the situation lasts as short as possible, although it will depend on the demand for water and the recovery of normality in the supply from the North of the island”.
The capital councilor has indicated that “the only canal that supplies this district that is in operation, and that supplies water, for the moment, is the Araya canal”, and has recalled that the water supply in Santa Cruz ” Approximately 70% of it comes from the desalination plant, so this problem should not be reproduced in other districts of the capital”.
