The request was made by the Canarian Councilor for Territorial Policy, Territorial Cohesion and Water, Manuel Miranda, who, as head of Emergencies, has taken over the management of the Special Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Attention due to Forest Fires in the Autonomous Community of Canary Islands (Infoca).
Two new helicopters from the Emergency and Rescue Group of the Government of the Canary Islands have also joined the work to try to put out the fire, so that right now there are 13 aerial means trying to fight the flames.
The fire forced the preventive eviction of several nuclei last night and due to the dimension of the fire, the Cabildo de Tenerife requested this morning from the Government of the Canary Islands the passage to level 2 of gravity, with which it assumes the direction of the emergency.
