SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –

A man has died after being rescued from the sea in the coastal area near Fañabé beach, in the municipality of Adeje (Tenerife), as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of 112 in the Canary Islands.

The events occurred around 1:53 p.m. in the aforementioned place where the different activated services moved after 112 received an alert informing that a person was in trouble at sea and needed help.

The occupants of a recreational boat that was in the area took the affected person out of the water and after verifying that he was in cardiorespiratory arrest, they began to practice resuscitation maneuvers until the arrival of the rescuers from the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) who agreed to the person affected and they hoisted him onto the plane to evacuate him to the Adeje Volunteer Firefighters helipad while they provided assistance.

Once on land, the personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and from the health center in the area verified that the affected person remained in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued to perform advanced resuscitation maneuvers but without obtaining results, for which reason they could only confirm his death.

Also present were personnel from the municipality’s Beach Rescue Service and the Local Police who intervened in the rescue device deployed as well as Maritime Rescue, while Tenerife Firefighters ensured the landing and takeoff maneuvers of the helicopter on the helipad .

For their part, agents of the National Police conducted the corresponding proceedings.
