The Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands has ordered the closure of an infant and primary school (CEIP) in the Tenerife municipality of Guía de Isora and the creation of a special education center (CEE) in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria.
This was announced this Thursday by decree published in the Official Gazette of Canary Islands (BOC), in which he justifies decisions on the need to “adapt the network of public educational centers according to the planning of the teachingsin response to the efficient use of available resources and in order to achieve the best quality of the public education service”.
Education has justified the closure of the school “vera de erques“, in Guía de Isora, in need of getting “a better and more efficient use of available resources, both personal and material.
the student body who was currently enrolled in this center in Tenerife will be transferred to other schools in the area that have enough places for this, while the teaching staff who worked there “will be done in accordance with current labor legislation that results from its application.”
A new center in Gran Canaria
On the other hand, the Ministry of Education, directed by poly suarezhas resolved the creation of a special education center in San Bartolome de Tirajanawhich will absorb the students of Arguineguín, mogan and the southern municipality itself, which until now had to travel to Telde.
In this way, they are resolved “the schooling needs of students with educational needs in the southern part of the island”, highlighted Education.
The new center will be located at the board of Maspalomas and it will be the first School Council that decides what its name will be, for its subsequent approval by the Ministry, after listening to the City Council.
