The Cabildo, through the Science and Technology Park of Tenerife (PCTT), and the company Wooptix signed an addendum to the lease of spaces in the NanoTEC building in Las Mantecas. This possibility existed in the initial agreement and is now materializing given the company’s short-term growth expectations. There are 429.17 diaphanous square meters that Wooptix will be in charge of reforming.
The firm focuses its niche of activity and business on the manufacture of semiconductor metrology (measurement) equipment by means of images. A technique that has derived from adaptive optics research used in astronomy and imaging in space. This allows them to obtain more information and data.
The company was founded in 2016 as a spin off –born from another– of the University of La Laguna. It has 30 people and growing. With the expansion, it plans to hire a minimum of 20 new workers and will increase its workforce and facilities as the demand for machines and instrumentation progresses.

The Minister of Innovation, Research and Development, Juan José Martínez, highlights the 30 companies already installed. His objective is to promote the creation and consolidation of technology-based companies and create an R&D ecosystem.
