SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A canoe with 37 immigrants has arrived this Thursday morning at the port of Los Cristianos, in the municipality of Arona (Tenerife), as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of 112 Canary Islands and Maritime Rescue.
The cayuco was sighted by a pleasure boat in the vicinity of the port of Los Cristianos, about two miles (3.7 kilometers), alerting the situation at 09:38.
Subsequently, the Alpheratz salvamar has been activated, which has escorted the cayuco until it reaches the port, where the migrants have been treated by the health device in the area, made up of personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and the Red Cross.
Once the people who have arrived at the port have been assisted, they have not needed any hospital transfer.
