SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The acting Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Héctor Gómez, has appealed this Wednesday for “serious and discreet” work in the negotiations that are being held with other political formations for the formation of the Table of Congress and for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez . For this reason, he has called for prudence so that the statements that are made are carried out in the sphere of negotiation: “This is not the time to stage but rather to reach agreements.”
This was stated in statements to the media in the municipality of Adeje, in Tenerife, as a result of Sumar’s spokesman, Ernest Urtasun, having assured that Sumar “does not” aspire to preside over Congress, but that his priority is that there be an agreement for a progressive majority in the Table, which will be constituted on August 17.
“We are in a negotiation framework that must be interpreted within a framework of discretion,” said the socialist minister, who has stressed that the PSOE is a “serious” party that works not only to form a “stable” Congress Table “, but also to undertake the “challenge” of forming a majority of governability in Spain.
“Therefore, it is time for discretion, to work with the parliamentary groups in a discreet negotiation framework so that, from there, when we have the information already closed and the agreements reached, we can transfer them to public opinion when it comes to it,” insisted the Canarian politician.
In his opinion, it is very important for the negotiations to be successful “to work with absolute serenity and tranquility, without the added pressure of putting names on the table or talking about who can be or be part of the Congress Table”, Héctor reiterated Gomez.
Finally, questioned by the statements made by Sumar regarding the PSOE lacking “ambition” in the negotiations to form these majorities, the minister has made it clear that the PSOE has been the party that has “backbone” Spain since the Government, “promoting rights and freedoms and leading a response in Europe to very complicated situations such as the pandemic or the war in Ukraine, demonstrating ambition, leadership and strength”.
