Granadilla maintains the ban on bathing on its coastline due to the presence of microalgae

The Granadilla City Council maintains the ban on bathing on its coastline until it has the results of the analyzes carried out yesterday for the presence of some stains in the water, which could be microalgae.

Municipal sources have confirmed to EFE that for now it is ruled out that they are dumped due to what is most likely to be microalgae of vegetable origin that have already been observed in other places on the coast of Tenerife.

Specifically, on the Arico coast, the City Council advised against bathing due to the presence of these microalgae.

The sources have indicated that although the council collects seawater samples twice a week, another sampling was done yesterday and they are waiting to know the results.

The coastline of the municipality of Granadilla extends from the industrial estate to the town of Los Abrigos.
