SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –

A 91-year-old woman has been murdered on Tuesday in Valle de Guerra, in the municipality of La Laguna (Tenerife), at the hands of her partner, a 92-year-old man who has already been arrested by the National Police.

As sources from the National Police Corps have informed Europa Press, the victim showed signs of violent death and at the moment it is being investigated whether it could be a case of sexist violence.

If confirmed, the number of women murdered by gender violence in Spain would rise to 35 so far this year and 1,219 since 2003, when data began to be collected.

At 016 you can request advice on the resources available and the rights of victims of gender violence, as well as legal advice from 8 am to 10 pm every day of the week, with attention in 53 languages ​​and a service adapted to possible disability situations.

In an emergency situation you can call 112 or the emergency numbers of the National Police (091) and the Civil Guard (062). If it is not possible to make a call and in a dangerous situation, you can use the ALERTCOPS application, from which an alert signal will be sent to the police with geolocation.

These means of assistance can be activated by the victim and also by any person who knows or suspects a case of gender violence, recalls the Ministry.
