Vilaflor de Chasna was the place chosen for the celebration of the first Canary Market Place in the South of Tenerife, an event organized by the Economic Promotion area for the revitalization of local commerce and gastronomy aimed at the island public and also at the tourism sector.
More than twenty Canarian firms, 12 gastronomic points, three areas for tasting drinks, parallel activities aimed at all audiences, live music and the “Ruta de la Tapa” gathered in the central Plaza de San Pedro. This renowned commercial, cultural and fashion event breaks with its traditional location in the north of the island to travel, for a day, to this southern municipality. With this initiative, the Vilaflor de Chasna City Council intends to revitalize the southern part of the island and promote the local economy.
The Ruta de la Tapa was one of the events that brought together the largest number of participants, a public that also took advantage of it to make purchases at local businesses, as well as make use of children’s activities.
Spectacular day and many people
The mayoress of Vilaflor, Agustina Beltrán, was “absolutely satisfied with how this first market in the south of Tenerife has been held, which we have had in the municipality, with a spectacular day, a lot of people and we consider that it has been a promotional success for the entire business fabric and for the artisans who have participated, at the same time that we have developed the Tapa Route, which is an opportunity to discover the gastronomy of Vilaflor de Chasna”.
The Canary Market Place has established itself as a faithful defender of Canarian products, counting on all its events with a sample of the artistic talent of the Islands, as well as an immense variety of brands and stores from the Archipelago.
