Among the issues on the agenda set by the nationalists are from the recovery of the hydraulic or educational infrastructure agreements, to the exemption of the Canary Islands from the increase in airport charges that Aena plans to apply as of March 1, 2024, the co-management of airports, in compliance with the Statute of Autonomy, the immediate update of the standard costs of freight transport, the total transfer of Coastal powers, the transfer of items included in the General State Budget for 2023, among them , the 100 million euros from the Reconstruction Plan for La Palma, extending to ten years the 60% personal income tax bonus for palm trees and palm trees or extending free buses and trams for at least one year.
Likewise, CC demands the participation of the autonomous community in migration policy and in the meetings that are held with Morocco on this matter or for the delimitation of waters.
The reform of the regional financing system is another of the axes set by the nationalists who demand a fairer model with the Canary Islands that completely leaves aside the items that enter the islands through the Economic and Fiscal Regime.
The nationalists, therefore, acknowledge that they are open to open dialogue, although they warn that “talking about the future of Spain is also talking about the future of the Canary Islands.” In this context, they emphasize that “our support for the future president of the Government will always depend on a condition that for the Canary Islands Coalition is firm and immovable: the defense of the Canary Islands.”
