SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard belonging to the La Palma Traffic Detachment have investigated a 28-year-old young man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of reckless driving, driving a vehicle without a driver’s license and disobedience to the agents of the Authority.

The events occurred on the afternoon of July 23, when the Civil Guard agents were at an alcohol and drug checkpoint established at kilometer 92,300 of the LP-1 highway, in the municipality of Tijarafe, when at stopping a car, it ignored it and fled at high speed, endangering the integrity of the agents and other road users.

The driver was recognized visually by the agents, who proceeded to carry out the efforts to locate him, as well as inform him that he would be investigated for the crimes of reckless driving, driving a vehicle without a driver’s license and disobedience to the agents of The authority.

Based on the facts investigated, the corresponding proceedings were filed and delivered to the Los Llanos de Aridane Guard Court.

In accordance with the provisions of the current Penal Code, the crime of reckless driving is punishable by a prison sentence of six months to two years and the deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles and mopeds for a period of more than one and up to six years. .

Article 384 of the Criminal Code punishes the action of driving a motor vehicle or moped without a driving license, for loss of validity due to having lost all the points, for never having obtained it or for having been deprived of it by judicial decision, with imprisonment from three to six months or a fine from twelve to twenty-four months or work for the benefit of the community from thirty-one to ninety days.

And in accordance with what is established in the current Penal Code, the crime of disobedience to the Agents of the Authority will be punished with imprisonment from three months to one year or a fine from six to eighteen months, those who, without being included in the article 550, resist or seriously disobey the authority or its agents in the exercise of their functions…

These controls are part of the road safety operational strategy of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard, whose objectives are to reduce the figures for road accidents on roads that register greater mobility each year.
