The rosary has recently installed six intelligent pedestrian crossings in the vicinity of different areas of special risk, such as the exit of schools and playgrounds. This technology manages to detect the pedestrian, illuminate the zebra crossing and warn the driver to anticipate his reaction and thus reduce the accident rate, something important at night or in conditions of poor visibility due to heavy rain or fog.
The intelligent pedestrian crossings are already operational and are located in the vicinity of the Leoncio Rodríguez School, in La Esperanza; in front of the educational center and sports field of Machado; at the El Rosario nursery school; in front of the playgrounds and shopping centers of Radazul Alto and Radazul Bajo, and between the streets Inglaterra and Bélgica, near the playground and multi-sports field of Tabaiba Baja.

Intelligent pedestrian crossings apply Information and Communication Technologies to manage the road safety service, and are designed to protect pedestrians from possible collisions, warning drivers of their passage through the simultaneous activation of the vertical and horizontal LED luminous signaling elements. This signaling is activated by detecting the pedestrian by means of a sensor.
All pedestrian crossings have led warning signs for each direction of movement and include light plates fixed to the pavement, at ground level and placed in front of the pedestrian crossing to reinforce the light warning. These elements are durable and low consumption, in addition to supporting heavy traffic and not having any type of maintenance. The total investment of this action, including the civil works necessary for the installation, amounted to 61,500 euros.
