Los Realejos City Council allocates 110,000 euros in aid to clubs and athletes

Los Realejos Town Hall (Tenerife) has allocated 110,000 euros to a call for subsidies for sports clubs and individual athletes in the town. The application period will remain Open from Monday 7 to Tuesday 21 August.

The mayor, Adolfo González, explained that in parallel the Department of Sports This year it has already paid another 174,000 euros in nominal subsidies to 28 sports entities in Los Realejos “which adds up to the record economic effort of 284,000 euros in direct aid to Realejo sports.”

Adolfo González indicated that the object of this new line of subsidies is the promotion of sport in the municipality and the achievement of results, as in the case of sports entities that have a chain of affiliates in their grassroots categories that achieve a greater number of grassroots teams in competitions that go beyond the insular area and the promotion of Los Realejos outside the autonomous community.

In the case of individual athletes, he explained that tries to promote the largest number of federated athletescollaborate with them in the participation in regional, national or international competitions and that, likewise, promote the municipality beyond the archipelago.

The Councilor for Sports, Benito Dévora, specified that these competitive competition grants value and quantify, among other criteria, the merits that the applicant athlete or club has obtained over the last competition seasons and year’s objectives.

“It is, therefore, an economic aid from this City Council to those athletes and outstanding clubs that participate in competitions at a national level. Canary IslandsSpain or worldwide, who are thus promoting ‘Los Realejos with sport’ and to which we try to contribute to help them defray, among others, the expenses generated by the sporting activity itself and these trips”, he reiterated the concilor.

Bases and requirements

Specifically, expenses that respond to the nature of the activity are subsidized and its term of execution such as sports licences, mutual insurance and insurance, arbitration, travel expenses, accommodation, maintenance, prior recognition and medical attention and physiotherapy, remuneration of technical personnel, sports equipment for competition and training, kits, technical training expenses, among others.

All entities and sports clubs can Submit your application documentation through the City Council’s electronic registry at sede.losrealejos.es or through the SARA network. As for individual athletes, they can do it in the same way or choose to do it in person at the PIAC of the Los Realejos City Council in the period indicated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 08:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesdays from 08:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. hours or on Saturdays from 09:00 to 12:00.

These grants may be applied for non-profit sports associations that are registered in the Register of Citizen Entities of The Realejos, as well as individual athletes who appear in the municipal register of the town, who carry out the activity subject to the subsidy during the year 2023 and who meet the following requirements: be duly registered in the register of sports entities in the Canary Islands; certify participation in competitions organized by different sports federations; have a valid license from a sports federation in the case of aid to individual athletes.

It will also be requirements to develop the sporting activity in the municipality of Los Realejos, except for justified exceptions; not have applied for and/or obtained any other subsidy or aid from another public administration and/or entity or body linked or dependent on the latter that coincides with the purpose of this subsidy; not be involved in any of the causes determined in article 13 of the General Law 38/2003 of subsidies; and have justified the financial aid previously received by the City Council.
