The councilor and co-spokesperson of Unidas se Puede in the City Hall of La Laguna, Rubens Ascaniohas shared a video on his Twitter profile that shows a group of people practicing motocross -modality of motorcycling that consists of competing at speed on very rough outdoor terrain- among a herd of goatsin it surroundings of the Cañada Verde lagoon.

Ascanio emphasizes that it is a “totally illegal and dangerous activity” in this enclave, “more on hot days”. On the other hand, he insists that “it erodes more agricultural and natural soil” on these lands.

The Cañada Verde lagoon or Cañada lagunera is a ancient route of transhumance which runs within the municipality of La Laguna and runs through some of its sections the dividing lines with the municipalities of Tegueste, Santa Cruz and El Rosario.
