SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies, has ended the alert situation for risks of forest fires in El Hierro, La Gomera, La Palma (except for the area affected by the Puntagorda fire, which remains in emergency situation) and Tenerife. In Gran Canaria, the alert also ends from elevation 400 above sea level.
As the environmental circumstances that justified the declaration of the INFOCA Alert situation have ended, it is terminated as of 11:59 p.m. today, Wednesday, August 2.
It is recalled that the islands of El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera, Tenerife and Gran Canaria continue in a Pre-Alert situation, in accordance with the provisions of section 2.10.1 of INFOCA, and in the bulletin
4/2023/INFOCA, being in times of high fire danger.
Bulletin 7/2023/INFOCA, which declares the Level 1 Emergency situation in the area affected by the Puntagorda forest fire, on the island of La Palma, remains in force.
