SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Endesa, the electricity supplier company in La Gomera, has announced that 100% of the electricity supply on the island has already been restored and at this moment the situation can be described as completely normal after almost three days since the electrical zero originated.
The company has reported that it continues to work on strengthening the island’s electrical system and has advanced that twelve more generator sets will arrive tomorrow by sea, to be added to those that are already operating and to the portable power plant that, made up of six emergency groups, has begun to be assembled at the El Palmar facilities.
Endesa emphasizes that they continue to work with a large human team to try to remedy the damage suffered at the El Palmar Power Plant, which had a capacity of 20 MW before the incident, which far exceeded the peak demand of 9 MW, as as required by the supply company.
For its part, the Cabildo de La Gomera urges the population to continue to consume responsibly, making use of essential electrical and electronic elements, because, even though the supply has been recovered, the system is unstable.
