SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Canary Islands Coalition of Santiago el Teide, as a result of the “unfortunate” events that occurred at the Tamaimo festivities on Thursday night, has urgently requested that security measures be reinforced in the municipality and the police presence so that events such as these do not happen again.
This request from the nationalist party comes as a result of a fight between several people that led to a confrontation with the Local Police officers who came to the scene and the destruction of part of a patrol car. At least four people were arrested for these events.
The nationalists, as explained in a statement, requested police reinforcement at the Santa Ana festivities and for the rest of the events that take place during the summer in the municipality early on Friday so that the “incivility of a few does not prevent the majority of neighbors can enjoy their parties in harmony and fun, as they always have”.
CC de Santiago del Teide has lamented the situation and condemns the violent acts that took place during the Santa Ana festivities. “Against violence, zero tolerance”, say the nationalists, who wanted to show their support and recognition of the Police Corps Local and, especially, to the agents who saw their physical integrity endangered “before incivility and violence.”
In addition, from CC they want to show their full support and appreciation to the Santa Ana 2023 Fiestas Commission, “which has been working selflessly for a whole year so that all residents can enjoy a magnificent program of events. They do not deserve that his efforts and work are tarnished by this incident”.
“We hope that justice will act in an exemplary manner to restore the damage done to public property and prevent these situations from recurring in the future,” CC sentence.
