The Civil Guard has arrested in Tenerife still man who was surprised while carrying in his vehicle more than 150,000 doses of anabolic and steroidsfor which he is accused of a crime against public health typified in the Penal Code with up to three years in prison.

The action was carried out by agents of the Civil Guard belonging to the Main Post of La Victoria, with the support of the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of Puerto de la Cruz. The detainee is 33 years old and is a resident of the municipality of La Matanza.
The events occurred when the agents were carrying out a citizen security prevention service in the municipality of La Matanza and observed a man who was with all the doors of his vehicle open, including the trunk, while he was taking bags from inside.
“Upon noticing their presence, he adopted an attitude of exaggerated nervousness, quickly closing the trunk door, and hastily leaving the place on foot in the opposite direction to the agents,” explained the Benemérita.
The agents, given the suspicions, checked the state of the abandoned vehicle and saw from the outside, not only that the vehicle was open, but that throughout its interior, front and rear seats, as well as in the trunk, there were 15 bags of large and different types of garbage, filled with a multitude of boxes, of what apparently appeared to be medicines, and more specifically, doses of anabolic substances with various anagrams and different trademarks and active ingredients.
The agents activated the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police in Puerto de la Cruz, who was in charge of carrying out the corresponding Ocular Technical Inspection of the vehicle to clarify the facts, as well as the subsequent remission of samples of the medicines for their corresponding analysis to the Department of Inspection and Control of Medicines of the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS).
Finally, it was possible to verify that they were drugs of the “anabolic steroids” type, for which reason the alleged perpetrator of the events was identified, located, and arrested. The detainee, together with the proceedings, has been placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court of La Orotava.
