The judge of ‘mediator case‘ has cited for the next month of September as witnesses to four senior officials of the Government of the Canary Islandsamong which are included the general comptroller, two heads of service and a technician from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
In a ruling last Tuesday, collected by Europa Press, the head of the Investigating Court Number 4 of Santa Cruz de TenerifeÁngeles Lorenzo Cáceres, agrees to receive the September 13 from 10:00 a.m. to Natalia de Luis Yanesthe General Comptroller of the Canarian Government, after her summons -set for this month of July_ was suspended.
That same day, the instructor will hear as witnesses the head of the Registries, Industries and Animal Welfare service of the General Directorate of Livestock, Anthony Manuel cardonato the technician of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Pedro Pelaez Perez and the head of service refund of Subsidies of the Technical General Secretariat, William Jose de Diego.
On September 20, the magistrate will take a statement as under investigation starting at 10:00 a.m. Cristian Mauricio Lillo and Gemma de los Ángeles Venegas, the alleged recipients of a transfer of 7,500 euros executed by the company of José Suárez, alias ‘José the Drones‘defendant in the case.

Also that day the judge will listen as investigated, but from 11:00 a.m., to the businessman Sergio de Frutos Gouth. Already on September 21, the magistrate will question as a witness the administrator of the Vega Tetir Football Club, the team of which the former deputy of the PSOE Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbeloaka ‘Tito Berni’.
On September 21, the magistrate cited as investigated Jesus Maria Perez Spinola already Maximilian Poveda after having received an official letter from the Technological Crimes Group.
This round of statements is part of this case, in which the magistrate investigates an alleged corruption plot led by ‘Tito Berni’.
It allegedly offered to businessmen privileges in terms of contracting and an alleged favorable treatment in inspections and public aid. The summary of the case uncovered last February includes meetings and encounters, even participating in parties with prostitutes, alcohol and drugs.
Parallel to the court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the European Public Prosecutor’s Office took over the investigation of the ‘Meditor case’ relating to the retired general of the Civil Guard Francisco Espinosathe only defendant who entered pretrial detention, and to the contracts linked to an EU project in the Sahel.
