SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 24 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) fried chicken restaurant chain has presented its new restaurant in Tenerife by flying over the island with a commercial plane. To do this, he has customized one of the planes of the local company Canaryfly.
The brand wanted to take advantage of the location of its new establishment next to the Tenerife North Airport, one of the airports with the highest air traffic in the Canary Islands, to present the opening of its new restaurant in La Laguna through one of the busiest internal flights.
To do this, the brand has transferred its logo to a new communication medium, giving rise to the creation of a striking design that can be read: ‘This way KFC’, to indicate the location where the new establishment is located.
During the month of August, KFC will guide the canaries to the location of the new KFC restaurant in La Laguna through airspace. The KFC plane will carry out a daily route that will connect some of the islands of the archipelago such as Lanzarote, La Palma, Fuerteventura and El Hierro with the Tenerife North Airport.
The new restaurant located in the municipality of La Laguna, specifically at Avenida de la Candelaria, number 3, has an interior surface area of 280 m2 with capacity for 72 people. Likewise, it makes available to the public an outdoor area with a 200 m2 terrace and capacity for 102 diners.
With this new opening, KFC continues to consolidate its presence on the island of Tenerife, reaching the number of six restaurants and a total of twelve stores distributed throughout the archipelago. In addition, thanks to the brand’s commitment to the island, KFC has contributed to the generation of employment in the city with the creation of 30 new jobs.
“The opening of KFC La Laguna is, without a doubt, a very special occasion, which we are living just as excited as when we first arrived on the island in 2015. Thanks to the new opening of KFC in La Laguna, we have recovered the growth and development of the brand, reinforcing our position on the Tenerife map as leaders in fried chicken,” said Juan José Lecumberri, head of Padicum, a KFC franchisee.
On the occasion of the opening of the new KFC restaurant in La Laguna, the brand will give away two free chicken strips this month to all those who manage to photograph the plane flying over the island and come to the restaurant to show this image. Likewise, travelers who have the privilege of flying on it will be able to enjoy a free La Sobrada hamburger by exchanging their boarding pass at the new KFC restaurant on the island.
