SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The PSOE candidate for the Congress of Deputies for the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Héctor Gómez, has called for participation in these elections and to vote “with the hope that Spain will wake up tomorrow with a proposal for a strong country for our democracy”.
After exercising his right to vote in Guía de Isora, Héctor Gómez wished that today there would be “massive participation as demonstrated in voting by mail” and that the public “express their desire to have a Government of Spain.”
Thus, the minister hopes that after tonight’s vote count, a new government chaired by Pedro Sánchez can be articulated “under progressive pillars of progress and social rights, as we have done in the last five years.”
Therefore, he called for participation and to interpret that the coming years are “extremely important” for Spain and the Canary Islands. “We need a progressive project of the country -also of an autonomous community- that continues to promote the welfare state and that we do not go back one millimeter in all the rights and in the entire structure that we have endowed ourselves with in democracy.”
Finally, he wanted to thank all those who have made possible “this demonstration of full democracy that is Spain”, both the Post Office workers, local administrations, controllers and representatives of all political formations.
