The mayor of the Villa de La Orotava, Francisco Linaresvisited yesterday the Cabildo de Tenerife to hold a working meeting with its president Rosa Davila, The reform works of the Teobaldo Power Auditorium, the culmination of the conditioning of the TF-21 highway, the plans for employment and training, the cultural space project in the medianías and the improvements in the Parque Nacional del Teide were the main issues addressed at the headquarters of the insular Corporation.
Cabildo de Tenerife and the City Council of La Orotava committed themselves to promote these and other projects for the municipality and, in general, the north of the Island through the Development Fund of Canary Islands (Fdcan) of the regional government and the Strategic Framework for Island Development (MEDI) of the Cabildo. Dávila and Linares agreed to establish a roadmap to define the actions to be carried out during this term and agreed that both programs, which were unanimously approved by all the mayors, “must recover their operation because they included important plans and investments for all the municipalities.”
Rosa Dávila indicated as an assessment that these meetings “allow us to know first-hand where we have to work together and schedule a meeting to undertake activities with representatives of the island and municipal government.”
There was a coincidence in recovering the financing of the Fdcan and the Strategic Framework, the MEDI
The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife insisted that “the island cannot be governed without its town halls.” She announced that “next week we are going to convene the Insular Council of Territorial Administration (CIAT) to coordinate our actions in the face of the challenges we face as a society and in which the municipalities are and should be our main allies.”
For his part, Francisco Linares thanked the predisposition of the president of the Cabildo “to dialogue and joint work that must exist.” With them, he hopes to be able to complete such important projects for La Orotava, such as those linked to historical heritage, the Teide National Park or the reform of the Teobaldo Power Auditorium, to name just a few examples”.
