In a joint operation called ‘Lobo’the Command of Customs Surveillance Officials of the Tax Agency and agents of the Civil Guard They have arrested four people related to several marijuana plantations, a clandestine laboratory in which they transformed hashish resin and a cannabis club located in Tenerife.
On June 12, the members of both bodies carried out the entry and registration of a cannabis club and two houses in the towns of San Andrés and Abades (Tenerife). During the investigation, the agents discovered that narcotic substances were being sold at the club to be consumed by non-members outside the premises.
As a result of the searches, four people who were inside the properties were arrested, in charge of the custody, surveillance, cultivation, processing and sale of narcotic substances, according to the Civil Guard.
Among those arrested is an Italian citizen who he promoted himself on social media and events as “the best hashish resin extractor and ‘biotechnology man’”highlighting its ability to enhance the active principle (tetrahydrocannabinol, THC) and, therefore, the effects of the product in the human organism.
During the searches, 716 marijuana plants were confiscated, six kilos of packaged marijuana buds, 146 grams of hashish, 628 grams of hashish resin, 100 grams of pollen, 50 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, 28 cigarettes prepared for consumption, 112 bottles of hashish resin with a high THC concentration and 6,490 euros in cash.
In addition, various material was seized, highlighting a hydraulic press and a highly valuable freeze-drying machine, used to process cannabis plants and obtain higher-quality resin, hashish and pollen.
The agents verified that the marijuana-derived products found had undergone processes to enhance their active principle and produce more intense effects.
The detainees were transferred to the offices of the Fiscal Section and Borders of the Civil Guard of the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where the corresponding procedures were carried out together with the Customs Surveillance Operational Unit. Subsequently, the detainees and the confiscated effects were brought before the court in the Investigating Court number 4 of Granadilla de Abona, in Tenerife.
