SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife and the City Council of La Orotava will promote the projects for the municipality and the north of the island through the Canary Islands Development Fund (Fdcan) of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Strategic Framework for Island Development (MEDI) of the Cabildo.
The president of the Island Corporation, Rosa Dávila, and the mayor, Francisco Linares, held a meeting on Friday in which they agreed to establish a roadmap to define the actions to be carried out during this term.
Both agreed when pointing out that both programs, which were unanimously approved by all the mayors, “must recover their operation because they contemplated important projects and investments for all the municipalities.”
Rosa Dávila pointed out that this type of meeting “allows us to see first-hand where we have to work together and schedule a working meeting with representatives of the insular and municipal government.” “Tenerife cannot be governed without its town halls and next week we are going to convene the Insular Council of Territorial Administration (CIAT) to coordinate our actions in the challenges we face as a Tenerife society in which the town halls are our allies”, she added.
For his part, Francisco Linares thanked the predisposition of the president of the Cabildo “to the dialogue and joint work that must exist and with which he hopes to be able to complete such important projects for La Orotava such as those linked to the historical heritage, the El Teide National Park or the reform of the Teobaldo Power Auditorium, to name a few examples”.
