The headquarters building of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Port Authority is the place chosen to celebrate next Monday, July 24, at 10:00 a.m., the presentation of the assisted reality system for the training of maritime professionals, called RELAR (Remote Learning and Examination based on Augmented Reality).
Together with the president of the Port Authority, Carlos González, the Maritime Captain of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Antonio Conde, will attend, and the main engineer of the RELAR project, Carlos Mora, will intervene as speakers; Aarón Acevedo, member of the research team of the project and the professor of the Department of Engineering Techniques and Projects of the ULL, Jorge Martín.
Remote Learning and Examination based on Augmented Reality (RELAR) is a European Erasmus+ project that aims to create a crisis-proof educational environment, allowing remote tutoring and digital skills training based on augmented reality (AR).
The project integrates seven European partners, vocational training institutions and higher education institutions, all linked to the maritime industry.
At the event, three scenarios related to the use of assisted reality will be shown and there will also be a presentation of a second project that uses the BIM methodology (Building Information Modeling) for the creation of the digital clone of a project, through the use of 3D graphic information and virtual reality environments, in order to be able to carry out simulations and investigations in this regard.
Likewise, two success stories will be presented: the creation of a digital clone of a new neighborhood with more than 30,000 homes, shopping centers, garden areas and offices, and the remodeling of the Rimini port in Italy, for which a digital clone has been created from the proposed architecture project.
Finally, the event will conclude with a RELAR demonstration in the field of remote training linked to marine technologies.
The presentation of both projects can be followed via streaming through the YouTube channel “CanalULL”.
