SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Councilor for Mobility of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Eulalia García, and the Councilor for Highways, Dámaso Arteaga, held a meeting with the Provincial Traffic Chief of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Pablo González de la Aleja, to analyze the mobility situation on the island and implement measures that help improve it.
During the meeting they analyzed different issues related to the Padre Anchieta roundabout and the advantages and disadvantages of closing some of the accesses to the TF-5 in order to improve traffic flow.
Likewise, Eulalia García met with the president of the Canary Islands Association of Roadside Assistance Companies (Aceac), José Luis Tacoronte, with whom she discussed the possibility of designing a service that allows an injured vehicle to be transferred as soon as possible to the area of nearest service so that the service contracted by the individual can pick it up from there.
Eulalia García pointed out that they have found a “great predisposition” on the part of the General Directorate of Traffic and Aceac to implement measures that help alleviate and solve traffic problems. She added that it was the second contact after the meeting on July 10 where it was agreed to establish working groups to improve mobility in Tenerife.
For his part, Dámaso Arteaga indicated that from the Highways area “the technical solutions of the works that may allow improving traffic on the main roads of the island are studied.” “We have opened the dialogue with the entities and groups to listen to their proposals and in the coming days we will continue with the meetings,” he added.
The Cabildo is leading the process in which measures will be implemented in the short, medium and long term to alleviate and solve traffic problems. This is a collective challenge that concerns the whole of society, which is why a roadmap has been established with the different economic and social agents to analyze the solutions.
