Lawyer Elisenda Cozzi, a member of the J2 movement, stated that they are alternative mutualists to RETA who are reaching retirement age and everything they were offered “has nothing to do with reality.” “They have always told us that we would have better benefits than the self-employed and the reality is that we have not even reached non-contributory retirement,” she added.

The members of the J2 movement affirmed that there are currently 80,000 professionals in Spain affected by this problem, of which 7,700 lawyers and 500 solicitors are from the Canary Islands.
Rafael Yanes, for his part, pointed out that these professionals “are a fundamental piece of effective judicial protection and live in an unfair situation.” He announced that, since it is a matter of the State, he will transfer it to the Ombudsman of Spain so that he can process it before the corresponding Ministry.
