The Public Services area of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, directed by Carlos Tarife, will begin this Thursday the asphalting of the section of Francisco La Roche avenue that goes from the Provincial Coastal Service building to the access to República de Honduras street .
This pavement resurfacing work, with a budget of 248,776.96 euros, will be carried out at night, from 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and for six nights (except Friday and Saturday), with which it is scheduled to be completed during the morning of the 27th to the 28th of this month.
These pavement improvement works occupy an area of 7,605 square meters, which translates into 1,120 tons of asphalt. According to the first deputy mayor and councilor for Public Services, “it is about improvement work that will be carried out at night to avoid the busiest hours and that is committed to environmental protection and the circular economy that is of vital importance to the city.
In addition, they will work with AC16 SURF (D-12) asphalt mix, with NFU modified bitumen (end-of-life tires), with a thickness of six centimeters in the surface layer. Something with which, Carlos Tarife pointed out, “the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda are met and, therefore, it is possible to reduce the carbon footprint and noise pollution of vehicles when they circulate on the pavement.”
The City Council of the capital has already executed two roads in the city with this type of pavement. Specifically, they are Padre Anchieta and Aguere streets, with a total area of 3,200 square meters and an investment of 110,000 euros.
More than 90 routes
The mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, recalled that with this action “we maintain the roadmap in a set of executions that is the most important of the many municipal asphalt plans that have been carried out in Santa Cruz in recent decades. ”.
To which he added that it is, specifically, “the repaving of more than 90 streets and roads that benefit all the districts of the municipality and that includes, in addition to the works of the Public Services area, others projected from the area of Works and from the districts themselves”.
