The company Kapsch will manage the mobility of Santa Cruz for 6.8 million

The company Kapsch TrafficCom Transportation SAU for the contracting of the Urban Mobility Maintenance, Regulation, Management and Control Service of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, for an amount during the entire term of the contract, without including extensions (IGIC included) of 6,819,167 91 euros, a multi-year expense for this total amount for the years 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.

This contract includes all the maintenance, conservation, repair, modification, exploitation, control and surveillance work of the city’s mobility, the facilities and its communication elements, with the ultimate goal of optimizing the use of the road network of the city, guarantee road safety, and achieve the best performance of road traffic, pedestrians, cyclists, and personal mobility vehicles.
All of this, within the framework of the different strategies and policies at the European, national, regional and local level, which seek to achieve sustainable, safe, connected mobility, open to new technologies and inclusive.

For this reason, the three major areas of action covered by this contract have to do with Intelligent Mobility Management: Operation of the Control Room, from which the information, management and traffic and access control systems are managed of the municipality, the corrective and preventive maintenance of all the regulation, control and viewing facilities of the mobility of the municipality and the investments that contemplate the continuous renovation and improvement of the service facilities and, adequacy and adaptation of the systems and elements that require modification, in order to improve road safety.
The scope in which the contracted services must be provided includes the entire municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, including areas that may be integrated into the municipality in the future.

Areas, highways, highways and roads owned by the State, the Autonomous Community, the Island Council, the Port Board and individuals are excluded, except in the case that there are agreements by which the City Council assumes responsibility for the maintenance of said road signage elements. and road safety.

It includes the control of the execution of the different installation works of access control equipment, installation of traffic lights, CCTV (closed circuit television) and other elements and systems related to mobility, as well as information on the developments and application of new technologies, in accordance with the provisions of the Technical Specifications and the Specific Administrative Clauses.

In an environment of traffic systems based on the application of advanced technologies such as the one existing in the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, it is of special interest to control preventive and corrective maintenance tasks of the different elements and systems, the modifications and the new installations carried out by the winning company, since this directly affects the efficient management and operation of the mobility management systems. The services will include technical functions of verification, control and surveillance of the actions of supply and installation of the necessary equipment.
