The situation has improved overnight
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The fire declared this Saturday afternoon in the area located under the Mirador de Chivisaya, within the municipality of Arafo (Tenerife), has so far left some 60 hectares affected.
As reported by the Cabildo, the fire has forced the evacuation of about 50 people, as well as about 200 head of cattle.
From the beginning, different air and land means of the Forestry Brigade (Brifor) have come to the place for extinction work.
In this sense, during the morning there are four tactical high mobility vehicles (VAMTAC) with 16 components; a mother vehicle from the Tenerife Fire Brigade, two agents and eight other components of the Brifor, while two helicopters have withdrawn due to the good evolution during the night.
In addition, in a preventive manner, the decision was made yesterday to evacuate the area of Las Hermosas, in Candelaria; of Camino Las Tapias, in Arafo; and kilometer point 3 of the TF-523 road.
For its part, the situation has improved overnight thanks to the work carried out by land media, although the population is urged to follow the instructions of the authorities in the area and the official information provided by the Cabildo de Tenerife.
