SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, presided over the inauguration of the vice-president, Manuel Domínguez, and the rest of the executive directors this Saturday, electronically due to the fire in Puntagorda (La Palma), while this Monday will be the first Council of government.

During the ceremony, the top regional leader thanked Manuel Domínguez for the “generosity” he has shown in reaching this CC-PP agreement, since “when one puts the interest of the Canary Islands above all else, things flow.”

Clavijo has placed special emphasis on the fact that “there is a better Canary Islands for our children and grandchildren”, urging the directors to give their best to achieve it”.

“It is an important task and I am convinced that there will be sacrifices for a better Canary Islands. I cannot be more proud of the piece of government that takes office today”, he concluded.

Thus, on behalf of CC, Migdalia Machín will be in charge of the Ministry of Universities, Science and Innovation and Culture; Esther Monzón from the Ministry of Health; and Candelaria Delgado from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Childhood and Family.

Meanwhile, the head of the Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice and Security will be Nieves Lady Barreto, from La Palma, who has assumed her post electronically from the headquarters of the Cabildo de La Palma due to the fire that started on Saturday night on the island.

In addition, Manuel Miranda will hold the Territorial Political Council, Territorial Cohesion and Water; Pablo Rodríguez that of Public Works, Housing and Mobility; and Narvay Quintero of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty.

As for the PP councillors, Manuel Domínguez will be vice president and councilor for Economy, Industry, Commerce and the Self-Employed; Matilde Asian, Minister of Finance and Relations with the EU; Poli Suárez, Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sport; and Jessica de León, from Tourism and Employment.

Finally, the Minister of Ecological Transition and Energy, Mariano Hernández Zapata, a palmero like the nationalist Barreto, has taken office electronically from La Palma for monitoring the fire on the island.
