A Carmen of rock, festivals and masses

A festive weekend in the islands of Lanzarote and Graciosa, where the festivities in various locations in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. From the Valterra neighborhood in Reef to the gracefuland without forgetting White beachevents of all kinds, both religious and popular, have been organized to commemorate the festivity of the patron saint of sailors.

In it Valterra neighborhood, the festivities of El Carmen began yesterday with the proclamation by Águeda Batista, a prominent athlete who lived during her childhood and youth in this seaside neighborhood, and is a worker at the capital’s City Hall. The proclamation began at 8:00 p.m. in the Plaza de Valterra.

For Saturday, July 15, the Plaza de Valterra will host a playroom and children’s workshop. There will also be a Children’s Taekwondo exhibition by the Granbudo Club. And at night, the eve of Día del Carmen, there will be the Tribute to Mecano show.

The celebration of the day of Carmen, and subsequent land procession, will be tomorrow Sunday. The religious programming of this day has the following events and times: 7:00 am: Rosario de la Aurora, leaving from the parish church; at 7:00 p.m., solemn function in honor of Our Blessed Mother of Mount Carmel in the parish church and at 8:00 p.m., land procession, leaving from the parish church.

The Villa organizes today a extensive program of activities: 4×4 exhibition in Vega de San José (10 hours); display of soccer veteran (10.30); Paleo training (11); foam party enlivened by a DJ (13); popular barbecue with music in the Plaza de La Mareta (2 pm); prayer and mass (18); Mariachis night (8:00 p.m.) and verbena, at 11:00 p.m., in the municipal tent.

Tomorrow Sunday, diana flowered with the brass band and giants, at six in the morning; mass and procession through the main streets of the historic neighborhood of La Villa, with the municipal music bands of Teguise and Barlovento (The Palm), at 12 o’clock. At 12.30 mass sung by the Parish Choir and procession of the image. At 2:00 p.m., invitation at the Spínola Palace and at 8:30 p.m., representation of the play Los Herederos by the Manuela and Esperanza Spínola Theater Group at the Teguise municipal theater.

Yaiza.

In the tourist town of Playa Blanca, Today, at 11:00 a.m., the Desiguales 10 show is scheduled at the Creciendo Yaiza association, in Plaza del Carmen. At 12:30 pm, parade with the musical band Archipiélago, from Gran Canaria. In addition, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., inflatables and a musical performance by Grupo LD, from Tenerife, on the beach of the town. At 2:30 p.m., parades with the Archipiélago musical band, from the town beach to end in the Plaza del Carmen. Next, Great Water Festival enlivened by the group Los Conejeros, in the Plaza del Carmen.

In the afternoon, at 5:00 p.m., race lateen sail Posthumous tribute to Joaquín Caraballo Patas Vivas. At 7:30 p.m., mass in the Nuestra Señora del Carmen church, while at 9:00 p.m., a performance in straight of the Spanish group La Frontera, in the Plaza del Carmen. Next, a popular festival with performances by Grupo LD, from Tenerife, and Orquesta Rika Banda, from Lanzarote. Tomorrow, starting at 12:00 pm, solemn function in the Plaza del Carmen, with the participation of the Yaiza Vocal Group, and then a land and sea procession accompanied by the Yaiza Municipal Band and reception on the beach of the Town with the party Pal’ Porrón.

Next, barbecue animated by the Son de la Loma Group, the Sincopa’Ti orchestra with Iván Cacu from Tenerife and Tribute to Manny Manuel, in the Plaza del Carmen.

The town of La Santa organizes this weekend various activities for the fiestas del Carmen. Thus, today, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Fiesta de Colores with DJs Javi Fajardo, Blade, Chris Ramos and Fran Bernal. And from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., festival with the group Los Conejeros and DJ Fran Bernal. Tomorrow, Sunday, at 11:00 a.m., float party on the pier; at 6:00 p.m., mass and maritime procession of the image of the Virgen del Carmen. Then Rondalla Timbayba and Tinajo Municipal Band. And at 9:00 p.m., playback theater and barbecue.
