SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Tenerife tram has been recognized for the fourth time with the Aenor Universal Accessibility certification.
The Minister of Mobility, Eulalia García, points out in a note that in 2011 it was the first guided transport in Spain to receive this certification and since then “it has been a reference for national operators who have wanted to implement and develop fully guided transport itineraries accessible”.
It also highlights the commitment of the Cabildo for accessibility as a “distinctive element” of public transport on the island.
“We continue working every day so that anyone can use public transport,” he details.
The new accreditation will be valid until 2026 and extends to all the activities of the Tenerife tram, which includes passenger transport and information and ticket sales.
Audits are carried out every three years and present a high degree of exhaustiveness and compliance with the UNE 17001-2:2007 Universal Accessibility standard.
